Allergens / Indoor Air Quality
This popular service is an add-on to a Mold Limited Sampling, Mold Screen Inspection, Mold Clearance Testing Inspection. Please refer to the mold section for more information.
The testing performed during an Allergen / Indoor Air Quality Inspection may be used as a screening tool, not for conformation or denial of potential health impact from allergen exposure.
For a modest additional cost, the samples for mold can also be analyzed for airborne biological particles such as but not limited to body parts, secretions, and digestive enzymes of pests such as cockroaches and dust mites, dander from pets and such pests as mice and other rodents, as well as pollen.
Some of the Symptoms of Allergies
- Sneezing, often accompanied by runny or clogged nose
- Postnasal drip
- Coughing
- Itching eyes, nose, and throat
- Watery eyes
- Allergic Shiners (dark circles caused by increased blood flow near the sinuses)
- The "Allergic Salute" (in a child, persistent upward rubbing of the nose that caused a crease on the nose)
- Conjunctivitis (membrane inflammation that lines the eyelids, causing red-rimmed, swollen eyes, and rubbing of eyelids)
- Wheezing
- Shortness of breath
